Guys, I am super pumped to join in the One Room Challenge party this spring! I’m a total newbie, but so ready to check this off my bucket list. I’ve wanted to participate but life always seemed to get in the way. Well, not this year!
We moved into our home about a year and a half ago. When we took possession, one of the first things we did was install plumbing to relocate the laundry room to the second floor. We wanted to make room for a pantry where the old laundry room was near the kitchen.
Once we installed the plumbing and hooked up the washer/dryer we kinda just forgot about it. When you see the before photos I am sure you’ll be thinking “how the heck did she forget about it?”. As the saying goes “out of sight, out of mind”.
Well, until we came across a great deal on an apron-front sink and the spark ignited to get this room in ship-shape. The One Room Challenge is the perfect way to tackle this room. It will motivate me to stay on track, and to give and receive support to (and from!) my fellow participants. And hopefully I’ll make some wonderful connections with like minded people along the way.
I’m excited to take this project on (and show it who’s boss) as I’ve always dreamed of having a beautiful and functional laundry room – weird? Maybe, but I think it will help me stay on top of the never-ending pile of laundry and conquer the stack of clothing in need of ironing. I really don’t enjoy ironing, I would literally want to do almost anything else!
However, if I had a great space to do these needed tasks in, it might not be such a chore! Pun totally intended. I think it is sound logic! I digress, but I’ll follow up in a few months and let you know if this newly renovated space (once done) has changed my perception.
I have my work cut out for me, but I’m motivated to get this room done in 6 weeks and to follow the design journey of so many talented and remarkable creators. Leave me a comment if you have any tips on how I can rock my first One Room Challenge – general motivation and feedback is always welcome and appreciated!
