Introducing a new series, “Closet Crush” where I feature staples from my own closet and how I style them. This suit features both masculine and feminine details which blend seamlessly together to create one kick-ass power suit. Diane Keaton is a fashion icon in my eyes, she looks on point Every. Single. Time. And this is exactly how this suit makes me feel, regardless of if I’m wearing it to the office or to run errands.
I pair this suit with a black crew-neck tank and sock booties (both from Zara) to ensure office dress code appropriateness. By day I work in the Health Care sector, which means that I have to err on the side of caution when it comes to my office style. This suit does a good job capturing the perfect balance between stylish yet work-wear appropriate.
This black lace and silk body suit (Free People) and kitten heels (Nine West) round out the suit and compete a girl-about-town look. It’s sexy yet age appropriate. Gone are the days of crop tops and non- existent skirts for me, and I have to say I don’t miss them. NO judgement if you choose to show off a little more skin, and if you feel comfortable and confident doing so I applaud you and cheer you on! That’s just not my personal preference and how I feel comfortable rocking an outfit.
Mom jeans are definitely having a moment these days, and these Diesel jeans are my take on it. I’m not one to usually wear form fitting outfits; usually my preference is a little more loose and light or rock n’ roll (depending on my mood) and that is exactly why I love these jeans. They’re loose yet slim fit. These are my goldilocks jeans – AKA the perfect fit. Paired with some platform booties (Zara) and I’m ready to the hit the grocery or record store.
Style tip – To prevent the look from getting too masculine, pair with curled hair pretty makeup and great pair of shoes.
