A Roundup Of My Favourite Local-ish Décor Shops

Mar 8

Spring is right around the corner, and with it, the desire to come out of hibernation and shed our winter skin – and our sweaters! With that in mind, I’ve rounded up my favourite local-ish décor shops.  Time to get out and smell the roses my friends!

I know that online shopping is becoming the preferred way to purchase goods, but for me, nothing beats the joy of meeting local shop owners. Soaking in their boutiques full of beautiful, curated one-of-a-kind items will set Pyour home apart from the masses.  Honestly, there’s so much good that comes from shopping locally and supporting small businesses, it deserves it’s own blog post devoted to just that.  But that’s a subject for another time.

If you’re local, book a date with your girlfriends or significant other and check out these wonderful shops.  Check out the way they group and display items, take pictures of the vignettes that inspire you, that you can make yours and incorporate in your own space.  I often do this if I find I’m getting into a style rut, and turn these shopping (or window shopping) dates into inspiration for my home.

These shops range in price points.  If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind item for your home or a gift for someone, these shops won’t disappoint. They offer unique items that you won’t find at the big box stores.  Some of them even offer do-it-yourself workshops, which I plan on checking out.  Because who doesn’t like to try something new and create? Especially if you can rope a girlfriend or two to join in the fun.  Let me know if you have any other local shop recommendations that I can check out, it’s one of my most favourite things to do.
